I love warm hugs!

The year wouldn't have been complete without a Frozen-themed cake. Here is the cake I made for my dear little boy, who was a late-comer to the Frozen craze but made up for it in enthusiasm for his favourite character, Olaf!

Lego and fairies...

In December I was a Cake Angel again, and made cakes for a little boy and his twin sister. One for a Lego fan, and the other for a little girl who loves pink, purple and fairies.

Octonauts birthday

My lovely friend's little boy was very specific with his request this year: an Octonauts-themed cake from a particular episode, The Octonauts and the Great White Shark. I modelled a super-cute Peso complete with medic bag and bandage, and of course the (rather friendly looking!) great white shark. The colours of the cake matched the theme of the party stationery and table cloths. I also made some ocean-themed cupcakes to tie in with the theme.

Baby showers

A cake for a baby shower. The theme was inspired by the gorgeous wrapping paper the hostess chose.

This is a cake I made in a Raspberry Butterfly class, with sugar paste elephant topper and oh-so-cute bunting.

Fathers' Day cake

A cake for Fathers' Day for my husband. The figurines are modelled on my beautiful family.

Geckoes on a cake

This cake was made for my twin brother, who loves reptiles! I thought a cute little gecko pair would be perfect for his cake this year.

Easter bunnies and chickies!

I made some Easter-themed cupcakes with bunny bottoms and little chicks in eggs. So cute!

Lightning McQueen

Back in March last year, I was lucky to have the opportunity to make another Cake Angels cake. This time for a little boy who was spending his fourth birthday in hospital. He was an avid Lightning McQueen fan, so I had to make him a Cars cake! Lightning is made of shaped RKT, covered in ganache and fondant. I made a dozen traffic light cupcakes to match.

Freddo frog cake

 

When I offered to do the cake for a friend's four year-old son, the only request was that is was a chocolate Freddo frog cake. After some deliberation I came up with the idea of an 'exploding' cake, with Freddo bursting out amidst a starburst of colour!
