Call the fire brigade!

This fire engine is made with a rice krispy treat (essentially, rice bubbles and melted marshmallows mixed into a sticky mess and 'set' in a tin). When cooled and set,  I carved the block of rice krispy treat into the basic shape of a fire engine, and then covered it in fondant. I followed the instructions for Debbie Brown's fire engine cake and was very pleased with the result, even though I changed things a little to suit the slightly smaller scale of the cake topper.

  1. BREATHING– The opening and closing of a mould to allow gases to escape early within the molding cycle. BLISTER– A raised space on the floor of a molding brought on by the strain of gases inside it on its incompletely hardened floor. ALLOY– Composite materials electrical testers made up by blending polymers or copolymers with different polymers or elastomers beneath chosen conditions. E.g., styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer resins blended with butadiene-acrvlonitrile rubbers.
